Veronique Simar
Véronique Simar is a woman of many passions and achievements.
As a young French architect, she participated in the programming of the Musée de La Villette, managed to rank finalist in several international architectural contests and was commissioned by the Consejo Nacional para la Protección de Antigua (the National Council for the protection of Antigua) to design a new Plaza Mayor for the former capital of Guatemala.
Once in Guatemala though, she found the perfect conditions to pursue a long caressed dream: invest time in her innate painting and drawing gifts. She soon dedicated herself to following her artist’s vocation and became a renowned contemporary artist in Central America, exhibiting also in NYC, San Francisco and Paris.
Several time biennial-winner and convinced that the creative aspect of art is as important as the mastery of techniques, she embarked in 1996 on an art and creativity educational endeavor that owned her a serious reputation of art mentor.
During those years in Guatemala, because she also deeply believes in the value of cross-cultural encounters, she had founded her own tour-operating company, and during 12 years, she led doctors, journalists, UNESCO, Mac Arthur Foundation and UNICEF people, as well as a number of VIPs in their discovery of her adopted country.
Recently returned to France, she is now joining World Genesis’s team: she will be leading and teaching the LESSONS IN DRAWING tour (Dordogne Caves and Gardens tour). |
