The Color of Tradition Chuck Plosky Ceramics Tour
Chuck Plosky studied at Pratt Institute, and the Corcoran School of Art. He received an MFA degree from Syracuse University. He has exhibited and sold work in America and Europe.
Current exhibits in New York are at Loveed Fine Art, 575 Madison and at Julian Jadow Ceramics, 24 West 57th Street. Museums that have shown his works include the Everson Museum in Syracuse, NY, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, the Museum of Contemporary Crafts, New York, Concorso International Della Arte Ceramica, Faenza, Italy, SOFA, New York, Christie's, New York and New Jersey State Museum in Trenton, NJ.
Professor of Art at New Jersey City University, Chuck Plosky also works in Mexico with the artisans of the group Herencia Milenaria, Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico.
His works are analytic sculptures of pottery forms, monumental architectural matrixes, vessels, furniture, large sculptures and figurative mythological stories.
He has worked as a kiln designer and kiln builder for artists and institutions.
His furniture and vessels have been purchased by designers and architects for themselves and their clients. |
